Never Underestimate the Power of a Praying Woman

Prayer changes things, or it changes you.

I am a big believer in this. I have seen this in my life more times than I could count. Things that I have prayed for have either happened, or my heart has changed and I have grown to have Peace that is far beyond my understanding.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Aaron and I are starting our second novena. We will be seeking the intercession of St. Monica. This will end on her Feast Day of August 27th!

St. Monica is the mother of St. Augustine. For many many years, knowing the life he was leading, which was not one of holiness, St. Monica prayed for the conversion of her son. Her prayers were consistent and from the depths of her heart. Never underestimate the power of a praying mother!! After many, many, many years of prayer, her son converted to the faith and even became a doctor of the Church! In addition to her son, St. Monica's prayers also led to the salvation of her pagan husband. Who knows how many lives were changed due to her prayers?

Makes me believe that my/our prayers, even though we do not always see the fulfillment, the fruit is there.

In seeking St. Monica's intercession, Aaron and I are specifically requesting prayers for the birth mother of our child & her faith, a smooth delivery and healthy baby, and of course myself as I transition into motherhood.

Thank you again for all your ongoing prayers and support. We are so blessed and overwhelmed by you all! Here is the novena we will be praying. Hope you can join us! https://catholicnovenaapp.com/novenas/st-monica-novena/#
