For Healing and Hope

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. Honestly, knowing there is a literal army of prayer warriors lifting up these sweet souls and us is comforting.

Yesterday our birth mom, Marie, started to respond to text more regularly. She is still weak, but you can tell she is starting to feel better. This is an improvement, as since admitting into hospital, it would regularly be 24-42 hours in-between her communication to us.

The babies are in very critical condition. The doctors decided that their condition was too critical to move them last Friday. Thus, they stayed put and did not transfer them. They have not improved.

With Marie responding more I was finally able to get some dialog going on two items that have been on our hearts.

The first being to move forward and baptize the babies in the hospital. She agreed to having her priest come today and give them a blessing. I believe her avoidance to baptism is due to her wanting us to be a part of that and have that memory. However, their little souls are more important than our heartbreak. This morning she asked the names we have chosen for them again. I believe she is going to talk to her priest about what he thinks. And I know full well the priest will agree with baptism if the hospital NICU policy allows it. So, we will see, but, I suspect that they will be baptized today.

The second, being to give my name and contact to the hospital as eligible for status updates from the NICU. Marie's updates are not complete to us, I believe due to her recovery from COVID herself and the needed detachment through the adoption process. With all that said, we are not getting the full picture. Our hope is that being able to get phone updates from the NICU staff, we will be able to get a more full picture. Say a prayer that she is willing and able to do this.

Aaron and I are doing as well as can be expected. Our every thought and prayer is with these babies and their healing. We are wrecked, worried, sad, feel helpless, and in constant prayer. This time has put a new perspective on the words of St. Paul to "Rejoice always, and Pray without ceasing." Through it all we trust. We know that it all belongs to God. That Our Father has a plan for us and these sweet babies. That the Holy Spirit is with the babies and us, and holding our hearts as we walk this path.

So, not much has changed...please continue to pray for these sweet babies and their miraculous healing.
