Many of you have asked, How can you pray for us?. Or, Who are you seeking intercession from?
Well...there are several actually!!! Go big or go home right?! I have always been a believer in praying big. When in ministry I would often talk about how we should confidently, without expectations, come to God with our big prayers. “[So] Let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.” (Heb. 4:16).
So, lately I have been seeking intercession from some of my favs. And all for different and specific reasons :)
Mary, Undoer of Knots- Seeking help undoing the knots that will come up through our home study and adoption process. Also specifically undoing any knots or blocks our birth mother is experiencing. As well as anything Aaron and I need to have prayed through and worked on to prepare for baby.
St. Monica- She is a patron of mothers, so for our birth mom and me.
St. Joseph- Patron of fathers and adoptive fathers, so for Aaron and whomever the birth father of our child is or will be. Also for Aaron to find a new job that he loves and supports our growing family.
St. Therese the Little Flower- This one will be a story in the days and weeks to come, but in short she is responsible for Aaron and I ever dating through a Novena I did in college. AND come to find out the organization doing our home study is called.....Little Flower.
St. Rita- Patron of Impossible Causes. This has been a long journey for Aaron and I, and at times seemed Impossible.
Katherine L. Garcia & Holly M. Tripp- These sweet sisters of mine passed away painfully close to each other. In the 3 years since their passing, I know they have been praying for us and for a family. I have NO DOUBT that they have been up there working on this. I miss them terribly and am tearing up just writing this, but I know they are walking with us. (Also, let it be known that Katie made me take that photo with her in the hospital. It was a hard day, and I was not having it, so it serves her right that it is here with her smile for all to see :). )
We are so humbled by your ongoing support and eagerness to journey and pray with us as we go through this. It has been overwhelming. It is life changing to feel the love of your community in this way. There is never enough "thank yous" for what you are doing for us.
With all that said, Mary, Undoer of Knots feast day is coming up. As we go through this, Aaron and I are going to be praying a series of novenas. With her feast day, we are starting with her. If you care to join, the novena starts tomorrow (8/6) and ends on 8/15.
