For many years I have prayed for grandkids.
For many years, my prayers have not been answered.
As in other areas of my life, my prayers were not answered. The older I have become I have realized that God has used these unanswered prayers as teaching moments. I have learned that God answers prayers in His own time.
Now I look at my daughter and ask what God had in mind by not granting her the gift of children. I believe He has taken this time to mold her. God has always had his loving arms wrapped around her and preparing her for the wonderful experience of motherhood.
When I look at her life to date, it is easy to see that all her past experiences have prepared her for this moment. God has prepared her for this moment.
I believe I began to see something happening to Kristin when she was a teenager. I began to see that there was something of a spiritual nature in her. I could just sense that her journey was being led by some unseen presence.
There was one such journey that at first, I was not supportive of her travel itinerary. Kristin was determined to go to Medugorje. I believe she had some decisions to make and was looking for answers. Medugorje is a town in Bosnia. It has been an unofficial place of Catholic pilgrimage since the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared on Apparition Hill in 1981. She wanted to go to a country that I felt was not safe. I was not going to support such a trip. Kristin had this guiding force that supported her in obtaining the funds needed for the journey. She went and came back home, and I could tell she had experienced something special, but she never really shared in detail her personal experience.
I have witnessed her as she lifts her hands to give praise and worship as she sings during Eucharistic adoration. You can just see that God is speaking to her and she is communicating with Him.
For the past several years Kristin has been a youth minister, along with Aaron’s assistance, at several churches. She has been heavily involved in guiding many young people on their spiritual journey. I feel that this experience has given Kristin, along with Aaron, the tools to be great parents. Kristin and Aaron have an extraordinarily strong faith. This can only help them as they raise their children. Families that pray together stay together.
The outpouring of overwhelming love and support for Kristin and Aaron during the past several days is an affirmation that they will be great parents.
I know that God was preparing Kristin for motherhood and has determined that now is the time.
God has answered my prayers!
Please consider supporting our new addition, through prayer and/or donation. Here is the link to a funding site some friends of Aaron and Kristin are running in their honor.
Love you Pumpkin,
Dad
